This stylish 'Cleopatra' daybed by A.R. Cordemeijer for Auping, Netherlands, was designed and produced in circa 1953. Signed on the springs as can be seen in the photos.
Featuring a painted metal and painted wood frame, with built-in metal springs and finished with a striped fabric cushion cover, this 'Cleopatra' daybed is uniquely recognizable due to its form - the gentle curves of the frame and the cushion pay homage to whom its named after.
Consider using this Cleopatra daybed as a chaise lounge or as a regular bed or cot in a guest room. Excellent for sleep-overs, kids room, family visiting from out of town, or any and all guests. Lightweight, easy to move around when and to where needed, and comfortable for when in-use.

Good vintage condition with appropriate age and wear. Frame has scuffs and scratches consistent with age and use. Fabric has light to moderate age and wear. Overall attractive in a vintage setting and ready to be used immediately. Or for a newer contemporary setting consider refinishing and reupholstery.
