Edmond Spence Checkerboard Nightstands or End Tables, c 1950 Sweden, Refinished
American designer Edmond J. Spence created a series of Swedish-inspired furniture that was manufactured in Sweden and imported by Walpole Furniture of Massachusetts in the 1950s. This pair of checkerboard nightstands by Edmond Spence have been newly refinished and are fabricated from beautifully grained walnut featuring a raised checkerboard design on the front cabinet doors opening to an interior shelf inside.
This elegant pair of restored 1950s tables by Edmund Spence would work great as bedside tables, end tables, side tables, occasional tables, lamp tables, phone tables, Zoom meeting tables, sofa tables or low cabinets and would work great in a Mid-Century Modern, Space Age Mod, Scandanavian Modern or Danish Modern home or penthouse apartment but could also look fantastic in a Post-Modern, Contemporary or Zen / Minimalism room. Also consider mixing it up in a Traditional, Transitional, Hollywood Regency, Classical or Art Deco room with a splash of juxtaposition. Would also be an apt choice in a commercial project such as a hotel lobby lounge or members club, creative design studio or high-rise executive office.
