Alessandro Mendini 'Zabro' Chair Table for Zanotta, Original 1984 Prod, Signed

This amazing collectors piece of Post-Modern design is an original 1980s production of the 'Zabro' chair (which easily transforms into a table) designed in 1984 by Alessandro Mendini for Zanotta.

We sent photos to Zanotta in Italy and they confirmed that this is an 'original production' example, which was produced between 1984 and 1987. We can provide the buyer of this chair with a copy of the email correspondence. Signed with Alessandro Mendini's signature on one leg and a Zanotta Made in Italy label underneath the chair seat.

Post-Modern design is extremely sought after by collectors, especially the good designs by quality makers like Zanotta. This very rare piece of functional art was not made in large quantities, making this example perfect for collectors and those who enjoy investing in art and design. Besides rarity - condition is often a factor for collectors. This is not a design that is easy to restore (refinish) due to the artwork on the seat and back. Made with lacquered wood, the chair seat and back have polychrome hand-decoration in a Memphis style design with shades of pink, blue, white, grey and black and the chair's arms are wrapped in matching pink leather. The top folds down to convert the chair into a table. The condition on this example is very good with only very light minor signs of age and wear.
