This 'much larger than it looks' collectors item is the 'Pompeiana' corner cabinet by Piero Fornasetti, completed in 1988, signed, dated and numbered 2 of 2. Fornasetti cabinets, especially corner cabinets, are extremely rare as production was always kept very limited throughout the decades. This particular example is from an edition of only 2 pieces made making this ideal for collectors, art / design investors, and top interior designers. And compared to most corner cabinets - this one is quite large! At over 56 inches of height and over 47" of width - this cabinet can store quite a bit more than it looks, and it's impressive size packs the 'wow factor' and can command the 'statement piece' title in any room.

This corner cupboard is made with lithographic transfer and lacquered wood that has a red and black background with shades of green, yellow, and white depicting a classical Roman architectural scene. Brass legs reminiscent of the original corner cabinet made by Fornesetti in 1949 for his home in Milan. Optional glass top which can be removed if desired. Inside the cabinet is a removable and re-positionable shelf.

The 'Pompeiana' aka Pompeian Motif is documented in the book "Fornasetti, The Complete Universe". This rare piece is sought after by interior designers and collectors alike. Perfect piece to add a little splash of whimsy and intrigue into your interior decor.

This Pierro Fornassetti 'Pompeiana' corner cabinet would work great in a Mid-Century Modern, Scandanavian Modern or Danish Modern home or penthouse apartment but could also look fantastic in a Contemporary or Post-Modern room. Also consider mixing it up in a Traditional, Transitional, Hollywood Regency, French Neoclassical or Art Deco room with a splash of juxtaposition. Would also be an apt choice in a commercial project such as a hotel lobby lounge or members club, creative design studio or high-rise executive office.
