Lucite Hanging 'Bubble Chair' by Eero Aarnio for Adelta, Signed
A very vintage example of the iconic lucite bubble chair designed by Eero Aarnio in 1968 and produced by Aldelta. Signed with 'Eero Aarnio Adelta Made in Finland' label.
*Note, this example has a lot of scratches and scuffs which most of it can be polished out. We have not done that yet and are listing this as pre-restoration. Later, if not already sold, we will polish the chair and re-list it at a higher price.
The sleek, instantly recognizable design is fabricated by heated acrylic which is then blown into a shape like a soap bubble. The edge is encased in a chrome steel bar with the use of a chain attached to the top enables the bubble chair to be suspended (Note, chain not included).
This highly coveted vintage suspended lounge chair by Eero Aarnio for Adelta would create a real impact to any space. The clear Lucite allows the floating easy chair to be part of numerous design concepts in a living room, bedroom, den, sunroom or office. They would also be an eye catching addition to a hospitality, retail or corporate location, such as a boutique hotel lobby, cocktail bar, members club, workspace studio, executive office or in a luxe clothing emporium. Great for a Mid-Century Modern home or Postmodern home, also great for contemporary, traditional, transitional, classical and more. Aarnio also designed the Ball chair, which was equally iconic to the Bubble chair. We have an authentic Ball chair by Asko available in our inventory as well - contact us for more details.
