This set of 8 full sized prototype 'Bijou' side tables from Stewart MacDougall includes his set of 10 signed miniature samples in its original box. This set came from Stewart's estate and estimated to have been designed and crafted in circa 1980s. Stewart was famous for his designs with Kipp Stewart and Drexel, many of those designs are coveted by interior designers and Mid-Century Modern collectors.

This listing is for the entire set which comes along with 8 full sized tables and the 10 miniature samples in branded Bijou cardboard box.

These colorful set of prototype samples would be perfect for an art and design collector. Consider placing the miniatures on a display shelf or cabinet and the full sized samples around a living room, den or lobby lounge. ABOUT THE ARTIST: (from Stewart MacDougall's obituary) Stewart produced a tremendous body of work in multiple design disciplines over his lifetime. He was one of the lead designers for the Monsanto House of the Future in Disneyland in 1957. He created many types of Mid-Century Modern chairs, tables and cabinets in the Eames fashion, that have become collectors' items. He designed and sold golf clubs, special putters, and push-carts, and was working on a set of clubs for seniors in recent months. He published "A Natural Golf Swing" in 2014, and "A Cruise Journal to Santa Cruz Island" in 2004. He collected and worked on vintage cars and enjoyed annual trips with friends to Pebble Beach for the Concourse d`Elegance. In his later years, he designed and built several large, colorful and distinctively named sculptures (Hal, Prancing Horse, High C) that reside in Santa Barbara, and a smaller piece that is in the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
