This is an all original Camaleonda by C&B Italia made within the first 3 years of production (1970 to 1973) of this design with its original mohair fabric, making this one of the most sought after collectors sets available on the open market. Designed by Mario Bellini in 1970 for C&B Italia, later produced after 1973 by B&B Italia after Piero Busnelli bought out Cassina and changed the name to B&B.
This modular Camaleonda sectional sofa set is with its original deep chocolate brown mohair fabric and includes three full seating elements with one 2/3's seating element, one full seat back and two arms. All tufting, hardware and feet are present, no rips or tears, everything is sturdy and structurally sound. Each seat element is signed with C&B labels and Atelier International distributor tags.
Collectors will always prefer an 'original' from early production years over later production examples or reproductions. For the Camaleonda, that would be the 1970-1973 C&B era. In addition - original fabric or leather is much more desirable than reupholstered sets. However it is very hard to find an early production set in good condition with all hardware in-tact, making sets like this increasingly rare to find. MEASUREMENTS: *This is a modular set with seven (7) total pieces and can be configured in many ways as each seating section can be placed wherever you desire and the arms and seat back can be fixed to the seating elements where you want. Our photos illustrate only one configuration so use your imagination to come up with the arrangement that best fits your room and use. CONDITION: Original fabric in good vintage condition. Age appropriate wear in a well-cared environment considering this is from 1970 to 1973 (original C&B Camaleonda years). No rips or tears. One prior small repair to one side which can't be seen when you place seating elements together. Some rubbing loss to mohair in small scattered areas, only noticeable upon close inspection. Some minor stains, also only noticeable with close inspection. Overall attractive and clean examples ready for immediate use.
