"Giostra di Frutta" Brass Tripod Side Table by Piero Fornasetti, Signed

This gorgeous collectors item is a 'Giostra di Frutta' (Merry-Go-Round of Fruit in Italian) side table by Piero Fornasetti, signed underneath with its original label. This side table is made with lacquered wood that has fruit displayed in a roundabout over white background motif and is affixed on top of a brass tripod base that is removable for easy and economical shipping or transport. This table has been completely restored, the top has been re-lacquered with a French Polish and the brass legs polished. Some signs of age and patina still present which adds to the beauty of this simple yet beautiful piece.

The 'Giostra di Frutta' aka 'Fruit Carousel' motif is documented in the book "Fornasetti, The Complete Universe", the motif was first used in the 1950s.
