Such incredible vintage detail in this large expandable rectangular dining table and ten (10) dining chairs in the style of Steve Chase and French designer Jean Claude Mahey (J.C. Mahey). Designed and crafted in the late 1970s to early 1980s in Italy, signed underneath some chairs "Made in Italy".

The Parsons-styled dining table features an extendable design which incorporates two (2) leaves to expand the table to accommodate 10 armchairs when fully expanded, or by removing leaves you can fit 8 chairs with one leaf and 6 chairs with no leaves. Gorgeous goatskin-vein pattern on the top of the table with both leaves forming a continuous pattern throughout the table.

The 10 Post-Modern dining chairs in the style of Karl Springer feature a parchment colored lacquer that matches the dining table and has an incredible reeded design with an arching seat back and waterfall arms. The gorgeous burgundy red diamond pattern fabric is clean and may have been recently reupholstered as the condition is very good and ready to use right away.

This expansive lacquered goatskin dining or conference / meeting table with 1950s design influence from Italian maker Aldo Tura, would work great in a Post-Modern, Mid-Century Modern, Space Age Mod, Scandanavian Modern or Danish Modern home or penthouse apartment but could also look fantastic in a Contemporary or Zen / Minimalism room. Also consider mixing it up in a Traditional, Transitional, Hollywood Regency, Classical or Art Deco room with a splash of juxtaposition. Would also be an apt choice in a commercial project such as a hotel lobby lounge or members club, creative design studio or high-rise executive office.

CONDITION:
Overall very good vintage condition and ready for immediate use.

Table has light wear throughout, moderate wear to the legs with heavier leg to one leg which includes scuffs. The two leaves are slightly lighter in color than the rest of the table. The table can be re-lacquered to address the scuffs, scratches and slight discoloration and is very inexpensive to do - contact us for details. In a vintage setting, however, this is probably not needed but for a "new" contemporary looking room this might be preferred. Overall the table is sturdy and structurally sound, very attractive, presentable and ready for immediate use.

The 10 dining arm chairs are in very good vintage condition with light minor wear. Very slight craquelure in the finish around where the arms connect to the frames. Some light scuffs to legs. Fabric is clean and in very good condition with only very light and minor wear. Can be reupholstered, and frames can be refinished and/or re-lacquered however the fabric and frames are very presentable, attractive and are sturdy and sound - so they are ready for immediate use without any alterations.

Our recommendation is to either use the set immediately or to re-lacquer the table only. The chairs are very nice and nothing is needed unless you want to change the fabric or color. The table is definitely usable immediately but an inexpensive refinish to the lacquer coat would provide some visible benefits. Contact us to discuss this further.
