Vittorio Introini for Saporiti Italia Reclining Lounge Chair and Ottoman, 1970s
This rare reclining lounge chair and matching ottoman was designed in the 1970s by Vittorio Introini for Saporiti Italia. The recliner lounge chair comes in a light brown / tan suede-like fabric with dot pattern with matching pillow cushion set. The base of the chair and ottoman are a dark textured metal. A lever on the lounge chair allows the user to recline backwards. Signed underneath with Saporiti Italia stamped fabric. Fully reclined with ottoman this works excellent as a chaise lounge or daybed for an afternoon NAP or R&R.
This chair would work great in a Mid-Century Modern, Scandinavian Modern or Danish Modern home or penthouse apartment but could also look fantastic in a Contemporary or Postmodern room. Also consider mixing it up in a traditional, transitional, classical or Art Deco room with a splash of juxtaposition. Would also be an Apt choice in a commercial project such as a hotel lobby lounge or members club, creative design studio or high-rise executive office. An excellent example of fine 1970s design and manufacturing. Quality materials and craftsmanship you can't get from today's goods. Strong hefty base provides excellent stability. The ergonomic seat is also well padded providing excellent comfort. Such a wonderful piece for the collector or high-fashion client.
Condition: Good vintage condition with light to moderate wear. Can benefit with re-upholstery or use in its current original fabric. Reclining base with mechanisms has light to moderate wear with very small crack and light lifting but is sturdy and functional.
