Angelo Mangiarotti for Skipper 'Tre 3' Dining Leather Sling Chairs, circa 1978
This beautifully patinated set of four 'Tre 3' dining chairs by Angelo Mangiarotti for Skipper has such nicely aged black leather slings over black lacquered wood frames. Rare and highly sought after, Mangiarotti's designs have been seen in many top interiors and magazines, this set of chairs would pair beautifully with one of his Eros marble dining table designs. Thick black saddle leather hides were used to create the mesmerizing sling chair design. The chair's base, as the name 'Tre 3' would indicate, is a three legged T-shape design similar to the Laverne T-chair by Katavolos, Littell and Kelley except in wood which provides greater warmth and sophistication to the room. Black lacquered wood frames pair so nicely with the patinated black leather slings.
These Tre Three chairs by Angelo Mangiarotti for Skipper would work great in a Mid-Century Modern, Scandanavian Modern or Danish Modern home or penthouse apartment but could also look fantastic in a Contemporary or Post-Modern room. CONDITION: Good vintage condition with moderate patina and light leather distressing throughout. Attractive vintage set ready for immediate use. Leather can be reupholstered upon request if you do not like leather patina with light distressing. Frames are in very good vintage condition with light wear, which also can be refinished upon request, and if desired, the color or wood stain can be custom selected at that time. However if you like patina and age on your leather, this is a beautiful set to consider.
