Brazilian Modern Jacaranda Armchairs from Floresta Country Club, Rio, circa 1968
Generously proportioned lounge chairs recently imported from a private collector in Brazil that were originally part of the palatial Floresta Country Club in Rio de Janeiro. Very similar to the Sergio Rodrigues Franco chair and Tonico chair, this pair of club chairs feature a sturdy frame comprised of Jacaranda wood with broad armrests for balancing a cocktail on and thick foam seat and back cushions that have been recently reupholstered in a bold red linen mix material. Both chairs retain their original 1960s /1970s Floresta Country Club tags which gives unique insight into the history and provenance of this beautiful set.
A ton of history and charm to this pair - they will be a perfect conversation starter for you and guests. Very solid and sturdy, this is an excellent choice for chairs that not only look incredible, but can be used on a daily basis and in commercial applications such as a hotel, office or restaurant lobby. Would pair fantastic with a Sergio Rodrigues or Percival Lafer coffee and side tables, contact us for a package deal with other matching Brazilian Modern items in our collection.
