Designed by Curtis Jere', which is a compound nom-de-plume of artists Curtis Freiler and Jerry Fels, this "Whistle Stop" wall sculpture was produced by their company Artisans House.

This delightfully whimsical wall sculpture displays the creativity and craftsmanship Artisan House was well know for. This wall art is fabricated from mixed metal including copper and iron, depicting the Azusa railway station located in San Gabriel Valley California, which first opened in 1887. Adding visual interest to the scene is a luggage trolley piled with boxes, a couple of suitcases on the platform, decorative architectural elements such as the curved archways and windows with a door in the center of the building. The railway station is surrounded by delicate trees and Azusa is engraved on a plaque in the middle of the roof. This sculpture can be mounted at the back using the metal brackets, as seen in the photo.

Measurements: 21" H x 46" W x 8" D

Very good vintage condition. Metal features an attractive patina. Some minor losses in the metal and a couple of pieces missing on the train tracks. Sculpture structurally sound and presents very well.
