Chrome Tile Paul Evans Directional Cityscape Style Credenza, circa 1970s
This rare 1970s 'Cityscape' style credenza is after the designs by Paul Evans produced by Directional Furniture. Featuring four doors with blacked out interior space for storage wrapped in chrome tiles in geometric patterns. Works best as a credenza, or can be used as a sideboard cabinet or can be used as a dresser if you place baskets in the interior.
A similar cabinet sold at Bonhams in 2016 as Paul Evans for Directional (see photos). However we are unsure of this attribution so this is listed and priced as 'after Paul Evans'. Contact us with any questions.
This Cityscape styled credenza cabinet, possibly made by Ello Furniture in the 1970s and early 1980s would work great in a Post-Modern, Mid-Century Modern, Space Age Mod, Scandanavian Modern or Danish Modern home or penthouse apartment but could also look fantastic in a Contemporary or Zen / Minimalism room. Also consider mixing it up in a Traditional, Transitional, Hollywood Regency, Classical or Art Deco room with a splash of juxtaposition. Would also be an apt choice in a commercial project such as a hotel lobby lounge or members club, creative design studio or high-rise executive office.
