This classic twenty-two (22) element cognac leather DS-600 'Non-Stop Sectional Sofa' by Swiss maker De Sede and distributed by Stendig, also referred to as the 'Snake' sectional sofa was designed by Ueli Berger, Eleanora Peduzzi-Riva, and Hans Ulrich in 1972 and is ideal for an interior designer or collector who is looking for an authentic early year production example of this design. Signed with Stendig labels and tags (see photos).

Each section can attach to one another or be separated via a zipper and metal pegs that hold each section together. Two (2) arm sections and twenty (20) seat sections are included. You can configure this in many different ways - all 22 sections do not have to be attached. You can split this into smaller sections if you like. Also each section can be placed so that the overall sofa curves or is straight - or even consider a serpentine shape (hence the nickname the 'Snake' sofa).

Collectors and vintage design enthusiasts will enjoy this set for being an early year "original" of the design when Stendig distributed for De Sede. In addition, signed examples like this one are the most desired. Usually original / early year production examples have a lot of wear - often with cracking and torn leather. This example, with soft supple and clean leather with only light patina is the perfect balance for those seeking a collectors set but without the wear that normally comes with it.

*NOTE* The Philip & Kelvin LaVerne cocktail table in the photos does not come with this sofa however it is available for purchase. It is a rare "Chan" table with hand enameling which is normally only found on the Chin-Yin table. This rare Chan table is not listed online but is available for sale so contact us for more details if you are interested.

This twenty-two section De Sede (Switzerland) Non-Stop Sectional Sofa would work great in a Mid-Century Modern, Scandanavian Modern or Danish Modern home or penthouse apartment but could also look fantastic in a Contemporary or Post-Modern room. Also consider mixing it up in a Traditional, Transitional, Classical or Art Deco room with a splash of juxtaposition. Would also be an apt choice in a commercial project such as a hotel lobby lounge or members club, creative design studio or high-rise executive office.
