Jean Gillon for Probel Leather and Brazilian Jacaranda Settee, 1960s, Signed
This rare Brazilian Modern collectors piece is by Jean Gillon for Probel and features gorgeous Brazilian Rosewood Jacaranda and beautiful red leather seats and arms. Featuring natural leather slings which support the tufted seat cushions and gorgeous rosewood details throughout the sculpted Jacaranda frame, this work of art is evidenced by the partial early Probel label indicating this was produced in the mid to late 1960s when this design was first created making it ideal for art and design investors and collectors.
This Brazilian Modern loveseat by Jean Gillon for Probel would work great in a Mid-Century Modern, Scandanavian Modern or Danish Modern home or penthouse apartment but could also look fantastic in a Contemporary or Post-Modern room. Also consider mixing it up in a Traditional, Transitional, Classical or Art Deco room with a splash of juxtaposition. Would also be an apt choice in a commercial project such as a hotel lobby lounge or members club, creative design studio or high-rise executive office. We also have a full collection of other Brazilian Modern pieces from designers such as Sergio Rodrigues, Jorge Zalszupin, Joaquim Tenreiro, Giuseppe Scapinelli, Novo Rumo, Martin Eisler, Carlo Hauner, Percival Lafer, José Zanine Caldas and more.
