Joe D'Urso for Knoll International 'High Table' Dining/Work Table, Signed, 1980

A fantastic Postmodern design, from 1980, by Joe D'Urso for Knoll International 'High Table' which functions perfectly as a dining table, conference table, work table, meeting table or desk. This early production example is signed with a Knoll International label underneath, dating this piece to the first year or few years of production. Great collectors example for those who collect Post Modern design.

This stylish table by Joseph Paul D'Urso features a jet black oval top with wood grain veneer underside (table can be reversed if you wish to use the wood side, would most likely require filling screw holes to do so) and jet black steel legs finished with casters. Underneath the table is a weighted plate for greater stability.

This Joe D'urso for Knoll International dining / conference / work table would work great in a Post-Modern, Mid-Century Modern, Scandinavian Modern or Danish modern home or penthouse apartment but could also look fantastic in a Contemporary or Zen / Minimalism room. Also consider mixing it up in a Traditional, Transitional, Classical or Art Deco room with a splash of juxtaposition. Would also be an apt choice in a commercial project such as a hotel lobby lounge or members club, creative design studio or high-rise executive office.

Celebrated minimalist and internationally renowned interior designer Joseph D’Urso first translated his signature spare aesthetic to furniture for Knoll in 1980. With simple lines, lean proportions and industrial materials, the collection of tables reflects D’Urso’s preference for objects that look more engineered than styled. “The tables span any function from home to office,” explains D’Urso. “I tried to create a palette of choices so one can decide what is most appropriate for each situation.”
