Kipp Stewart Set of Six Centennial Dining Chairs for Drexel, 1950s, Signed
This set of six classic Mid-Century Modern 'Centennial' dining chairs was designed by Kipp Stewart and Stewart McDougall and produced by Drexel in the 1950s and 1960s. Fabricated from solid walnut with striking wood grain and a look that has many similarities with George Nakashima's "New" chairs. Excellent option for collectors and interior designers as an alternative to Nakashima.
This set includes two (2) captains armchairs and four (4) side chairs. Signed underneath with Drexel stamp.
This set of six Centennial dining chairs by Kipp Stewart for Drexel would work great in a Mid-Century Modern, Scandinavian or Danish Modern, or American Modern home or penthouse apartment but could also look fantastic in a Contemporary, Hollywood Regency or Post-Modern room. Also consider mixing it up in a Traditional, Classical or Art Deco room with a splash of juxtaposition. This set of chairs would also be an Apt choice in a commercial project such as a hotel lobby lounge, members club, creative design studio or high-rise executive office.
