Live Edge Travertine Dining Table by Stone International, Italy, 1980s, Signed
An incredibly stylish live-edge travertine dining table by Stone International S.p.A., this example is signed with the original Stone International label underneath the travertine top and inside the travertine base and dated July 30th 1990, the same great year that brought us Home Alone, Edward Scissorhands, Pretty Woman, and Days of Thunder. This rare piece is the perfect opportunity for an interior designer looking to source an authentic signed vintage Travertine dining table from Stone International, the original Italian maker from the 1970s through 1990s.
Travertine tables are extremely in-demand with current design styles. What makes this one very unique compared to others on the market is that this is a signed vintage example by Stone International, the Italian company that made much of these styles popular in the 70s and 80s and is now no longer in production making these rare and sought-after by collectors. So why buy a generic travertine table when you can buy this collectors piece instead?
This 1980s Italian Post-Modern travertine dining table with rough-edge sides by Stone International SpA would work great in a Postmodern, Mid-Century Modern, Scandinavian Modern or Danish modern home or penthouse apartment but could also look fantastic in a contemporary or Zen / Minimalism room. Also consider mixing it up in a traditional, transitional, classical or Art Deco room with a splash of juxtaposition. Would also be an apt choice in a commercial project such as a hotel lobby lounge or members club, creative design studio or high-rise executive office. Consider using as a conference table or corporate meeting table.
MEASUREMENTS: H 29.25" x W 79.25" x 40"
CONDITION: Very good vintage condition, the top was just lightly polished and looks beautiful. Very light wear and patina. As you can see in the photos there are natural variances as to be expected with Travertine. Travertine is a natural porous stone and the way it is made to be flat and smooth is by filling in the holes then sanding and polishing. There is one corner which you can see in the photos where there are some darker spots in the fill which make it look like a crack however it is not. We included a photo of the underside of the table so you can see that it is only on the top surface and it does not go all the way through. Contact us with any questions on this.
