Monumental Handmade Fiber Art Tapestry by E. Farber for Tekima, c. 1970, Signed
This monumentally sized fiber art tapestry was handmade by Tekima, Germany in circa 1970. The stunning use of materials and colors create a vibrant and unique design supported by four wires. The main colors of burgundy, browns and greys are accented with flakes of gold colored fibers and the three dimensional design includes large matching tassels draped throughout.
Designed by E. Farber and handmade in the Tekima workshops, known for quality as you can tell by this masterful piece which is still in beautiful condition despite the 50 or so years that it has lived. Signed on the front with the artists insignia and on the back by the Tekima label. The label also reads that this is a "Special Model" and "Handmade" along with the artist's name, size and who it was commissioned for.
This large fiber art tapestry would work great in a Mid-Century Modern, Post-Modern, Space Age Mod, Scandanavian Modern or Danish Modern home or penthouse apartment but could also look fantastic in a Contemporary or Zen / Minimalism room. Also consider mixing it up in a Traditional, Transitional, Hollywood Regency, Classical or Art Deco room with a splash of juxtaposition. Would also be an apt choice in a commercial project such as a hotel lobby lounge or members club, creative design studio or high-rise executive office.
