Set of Four French Art Deco Dining Chairs Attributed to Sue et Mare, circa 1920s
A superb suite of four French Art Deco Mahogany dining chairs with intricate wood detailing and suede upholstery, attributed to Sue et Mare, circa 1920s.
The deep luxurious mahogany frames have curved seat backs with carved scroll ends and faux tassels providing this wonderful set of dining side chairs a bit of humor and a hint of the unexpected while the slightly curved saber legs demonstrate restraint from the designer to keep this chair design modest and classy while unique and interesting at the same time.
These French Art Deco chairs attributed to Sue et Mare would work great in an Art Deco, classical or Art Nouveau dining room or home, can also work well in a Mid-Century Modern home or penthouse apartment and could also look fantastic in a contemporary, Hollywood Regency or post-modern room. Also consider mixing it up in a traditional, Minimalist or craftsman home as a splash of juxtaposition. Being highly durable, this set of armchairs would also be an Apt choice in a commercial project such as a hotel lobby lounge, creative design studio or high-rise executive office.
