Such a spectacular pair of lounge chairs, these solid Jacaranda and newly reupholstered 'Stella' chairs by Sergio Rodrigues were made in Brazil during the 1960s and just newly restored. Priced in this listing as a set of two chairs.
Gorgeous sculptural Jacaranda Rosewood provides the base to new nubby white bouclé. Thick and plush seat and back cushions, the back cushions are filled with down feathers and seat cushions with down feathers sandwiched in foam, the ideal way to maximize comfort while giving the seats ample support so they do not deflate over time.
Perfect for Brazilian Modern collectors, luxury interior designers, and art / design investors. These Stella club chairs are rare, but more importantly are made with an endangered material which can no longer be harvested for production: exotic thick solid Jacaranda sculpted into a work of functional art. We acquired the chairs directly in Brazil from the house they resided in for decades, not through any middlemen, and recently imported them to the US where we recently began restoration. We intentionally left plenty of signs of age on the Jacaranda Rosewood frame, underneath the light refinish. All joinery was re-glued and tightened - these masterful arm chairs are ready for the next 60+ years.
