Vladimir Kagan Model 6705 Glass-Top Extension Dining Table, 1967, Signed
Designed by Vladimir Kagan in the 1967, this Model 6705 Glass-Top Extension dining table's sleek, modern design kept it relevant and prominent throughout the decades and is still on-trend and in-demand by interior designers and collectors to this day. This cubic styled table is perfect either as a dining table, desk or a conference table, as two removable blonde wood leaves border either end of the glass tabletop. The satin aluminum accents offset the luscious, light wood grain of the base and table edges. Original label present under both table leaves.
An excellent choice for collector clients, the 1967 Glass-Top Extension Dining Table is described in 'The Complete Kagan, A lifetime of Avant-Garde Design' as 'anchored on a single plinth of wood, was a centerpiece of Kagan's sixties designs and earned him a mechanical patent. The wooden leaves rested on retractable arms and could be stowed in a matching console'.
We have three other examples of this design in different woods, such as Rosewood, also a rare double pedestal example with matching bar cabinet, contact us for more details if you are looking a different color, wood or size.
This cubist dining table by Vladimir Kagan for Vladimir Kagan Designs work great in a Mid-Century Modern, Scandanavian Modern or Danish Modern home or penthouse apartment but could also look fantastic in a Contemporary or Post-Modern room. Also consider mixing it up in a Traditional, Transitional, Classical or Art Deco room with a splash of juxtaposition. Would also be an apt choice in a commercial project such as a hotel lobby lounge or members club, creative design studio or high-rise executive office. Very good vintage condition with light wear and patina. If you would like us to refinish the table, you can also select a new stain color at the same time. Contact us for more details and a refinishing quote.
