Vladimir Kagan 'Omnibus' Sectional Sofa with Lucite Legs, 1970s
This incredible large sectional sofa is by Vladimir Kagan, called the 'Omnibus' seating system. Designed in the 1960s, the Omnibus has remained as one of the most prolific and unique sectional sofa designs spanning all decades since, celebrated by modern design and art collectors alike. The 'Standard Hotel' in Los Angeles designed their entire lobby lounge in pink fabric Omnibus sectional sofas from Kagan.
This incredible sectional sofa is comprised of two sections. One "L-Shaped" section and one straight section. Both sections have smoked lucite legs and have been reupholstered in a burnt-sienna colored Alcantara. You can configure the two pieces in multiple ways, you can use them together or place them separately in the same room or even different rooms if you'd like. Incredible option for an interior designer working on a high-end luxury interior.
This Vladimir Kagan Omnibus sectional sofa would work great in a Post-Modern, Mid-Century Modern, Space Age Mod, Scandanavian Modern or Danish Modern home or penthouse apartment but could also look fantastic in a Contemporary or Zen / Minimalism room. Also consider mixing it up in a Traditional, Transitional, Hollywood Regency, Classical or Art Deco room with a splash of juxtaposition. Would also be an apt choice in a commercial project such as a hotel lobby lounge or members club, creative design studio or high-rise executive office.
