White Leather 'Bird' Swivel Chair by Preben Fabricius & Jørgen Kastholm, Signed

High-back swivel example of the extremely popular-amongst-designers and collectors, white leather 'Bird' chair model # FK-6727, also commonly referred to as the 'Tulip' bucket chair, designed by Preben Fabricius and Jørgen Kastholm, manufactured in Germany by Walter Knoll. What is unique and interesting about this example is that instead of the normal leather covered shell, the shell is fabricated with white fiberglass and the white leather cover is affixed to the fiberglass shell. Making this unique Bird chair truly something special. The white fiberglass is seen on the rear and side views while from the front you only see the leather cover. It is signed with a Walter Knoll label and all construction and hardware is accurate so this is an authentic custom produced example. Very space age modern!

This newer Walter Knoll version of the famed armchair is fabricated from a white fiberglass shell which is covered with a gorgeous white leather upholstery that is in excellent near-mint and like-new condition with only very minor wear. This desk chair has the Classic three star aluminum base. The Walter Knoll tag can be found on the lower seat where the Walter Knoll label has also been sewn in.

In our humble opinion, the FK 6727 bucket chair is the best desk chair you can get. From an interior design perspective, from a collector's / investment perspective and from a quality and comfort perspective, it doesn't get any better than this. And if you want it on casters or any other base let us know and we can swap the bases out for you to another base. We generally have stock in the Classic 3-prong base on feet and on casters, swivel base and caster base along with various 5-star bases including ones with casters and ones with feet, some that swivel and some that are stationary and even some that can be raised or lowered with a height adjustment lever.

This FK 6727 'Bird' chair by Preben Fabricius & Jorgen Kastholm for Walter Knoll (originally produced by Alfred Kill International) would work great in a Mid-Century Modern, Scandinavian Modern or Danish Modern home or penthouse apartment but could also look fantastic in a Contemporary or Postmodern room.
