Charles and Ray Eames LCW Lounge Chairs, Early Production, circa 1950, Rare PairAutomaton Vintage Furnishings
In 1946, these world renowned LCW or “Lounge chair wood” chairs, by Charles and Ray Eames for Herman Miller, were lauded by Time magazine as the best design of the 20th century.
These two (2) early production chairs are comprised of low-slung, expertly crafted molded seats and backs fabricated from walnut veneer bentwood with beautifully aged patinated color to nicely grained ash. These chairs cradle you in a comfortable position while rubber shock mounts, which are in excellent condition, buffer against jarring movement. Underside each chair seat is the 5-2-4 screw arrangement and the LCW incised mark.
These wonderfully versatile, revered chairs would fit right in to a living room, den, media room, kitchen, bedroom, playroom or office as a lounge or unconventional side chair option. They would be perfectly suited in a mid century modern apartment, Minimalist studio, eclectic open concept space, or contemporary home.
