Charles Hollis Jones Waterfall Lucite Dining Chairs, Set of Six, circa 1970Automaton Vintage Furnishings
Once referred to as a Pioneer in acrylic design by The Los Angeles Times, this set of Lucite Waterfall armchairs by Charles Hollis Jones present an excellent example of his work. CHJ was inspired by the Kinetic movement of water over a fall or from a fountain. The Lucite Waterfall collection is heated twice in the oven and the cooled, allowing for any stress to be removed. This process ensures the integrity of the Lucite for years to come.
These elegant and sophisticated dining chairs feature cascading Lucite arm wrests which transition gracefully to form the legs and have been newly upholstered in high-performance navy strie velvet. The Lucite has been gently hand polished and is in excellent condition. Much heavier than the somewhat similar "Hill Manufacturing" Lucite waterfall chairs that are often miss-attributed as CHJ's, these are quite distinct by the thicker and much higher quality Lucite used in CHJ's designs.
These gorgeous armchairs with their mix of high-end and on-trend materials would be ideal for a polished dining room, games room, living room, office or used separately as desk and accent chairs throughout the home. They would also work well in a hospitality or corporate location, such as a work conference room, creative studio executive office, boutique hotel lobby, restaurant private dining room, cocktail bar or luxe clothing emporium.
Note: These appear in the images to be smoked colored Lucite frames due to the photography lighting and background; however they are very clear Lucite. Please contact us if you have any question regarding this.
