*SOLD* Evans Rare 1940s DCW Molded Plywood Chairs by Charles and Ray EamesAutomaton Vintage Furnishings
This pair of early example DCW's feature the 5-2-5 screw configuration as well as original three-part Evans labels.
Evans Products Company manufactured The Eames molded plywood chairs from 1946 through 1949. Thereafter Herman Miller took over production.
This set was produced between 1947 and 1949 while Herman Miller owned market and distribution rights,
but Evans still owned production rights. Originally introduced to the world in 1946 at an exclusive MoMa exhibit, the "Eames Molded Plywood Chair" has captured the attention of designers and collectors for decades. Now simply referred to as the DCW Chair, which stands for 'Dining Chair Wood,' the compound curved seats and bent backs render an unforgettable shape.
In excellent condition, as expected possesses slight wear consistent with age and use. Contact us for more information.
