This fantastic 1950s ten-drawer double dresser and nightstand was designed by Paul Frankl for Johnson Furniture and retailed by John Stuart during the 1950s. Crafted from a beautiful exotic wood, front drawers appears to be possibly a quilted maple or flame burl, and lightly refinished with original X-shaped hardware. The back is stamped with Johnson Furniture inventory codes.
This gorgeous Paul Frankl for Johnson Furniture dresser and nightstand would work great in an Art Deco, Hollywood Regency, Post-Modern or Mid-Century Modern or Classic Farm House home or penthouse apartment but could also look fantastic in a Contemporary, Space Age Mod, Scandinavian Modern, Danish Modern or Zen / Minimalist room. Also consider mixing it up in a Traditional, Transitional, or Classical room with a splash of juxtaposition. Would also be an apt choice in a commercial project such as a hotel lobby lounge or members club, creative design studio or high-rise executive office. Works great as a dresser, chest of drawers, credenza, lingerie cabinet or sideboard cabinet.
