This rare five-piece (5) living room suite by Giuseppi Pagano, designed in 1939 for Bocconi University in Milan, is comprised of two oak bentwood upholstered open armchairs with ottomans and a settee.
This set was recently restored, the oak bentwood frames still exhibit their 80 years of age in a beautiful fashion - just look at the old original screws - zoom in and see the gorgeous details that every year left on the frames - or ask us for high-definition photos so you can see just how much this set pleases the eye and mind. While the refinish made this set ready to be used in a high-end luxury designer application - collectors can appreciate the age retained in the subtle details under the refinish. Recently reupholstered, the nubby and thick pile silver-grey fabric has no noticeable wear or odors and has an incredible soft hand-feel. Ideal for interior designers as this set checks every box - also perfect for collectors and connoisseurs of architecture and design.
The set of Giuseppi Pagano Pogatschnig lounge chairs and loveseat features an intriguing silhouette with its on-trend oak bentwood frames inspired from the Art Deco period as it was moving into Modern, making it more refined and sophisticated than typical Mid-Century Modern options and more on-trend with todays preferences of finish, texture and color.
This living room set by Giuseppi Pagano Pogatschnig for Bocconi University of Milan would work great in an Art Deco, Hollywood Regency, Post-Modern or Mid-Century Modern home or penthouse apartment but could also look fantastic in a Contemporary, Space Age Mod, Scandanavian Modern, Danish Modern or Zen / Minimalist room. Also consider mixing it up in a Traditional, Transitional, or Classical room with a splash of juxtaposition. Would also be an apt choice in a commercial project such as a hotel lobby lounge or members club, creative design studio or high-rise executive office.
