In 1961 these armchairs were created in collaboration with Charles and Ray Eames when Alexander Girard was designing the interior of La Fonda Del Sol restaurant in New York City’s Time Life Building. This assembled set of six chairs are comprised of parchment toned fiberglass shell seats with a specially designed solid cast aluminum four-star pedestal base and offers 360 degrees of movement, enabling those seated to divert their attention and conversation as appropriate. Three of these chairs have polished finished bases and the other three have a matte finish, which blends attractively as a group. The Herman Miller manufacturers stamp can be found under the seats.

This elegant set would be a great addition used together or individually around the home as part of a classic or contemporary dining room, living room, den, family room, office or bedroom. They would also be an apt choice in a corporate, retail or hospitality location such as a boutique hotel lobby, cocktail bar, restaurant, members club, workspace studio, executive office or in a luxe clothing emporium.

Measurements: 29.5" H x 24.75" W x 19" D
Seat height 17.75"
Seat depth 16.5"

Very good vintage condition. As expected, signs of use commensurate with age are evident. Some signs of discoloration to the fiberglass and signs of use on the bases. Overall excellent set ready for immediate use. Prior weld repair to support bar underneath. Not visible unless looking under the chair.
