If you are someone who seeks the absolute best of the best - this is for you. This is an all original modular Camaleonda sectional by Mario Bellini for B&B Italia made within the first 6 years from the original release of the design with its original dark brown leather in excellent vintage condition with very light attractive patina, each section signed with B&B Italia labels and accompanied with its original sales paperwork and authenticity certificate from B&B America, making this one of the best and most sought-after collectors sets available on the open market.
Designed by Mario Bellini in 1970 for C&B Italia, later produced after 1973 by B&B Italia after Piero Busnelli bought out Cassina and changed the name to B&B. This set was purchased and produced in 1976 per the original sales invoice included in the photo gallery and which will be passed on to the buyer of this set. Having the original paperwork is amazing - it provides its history and provenance (we acquired this set from the original owners daughter), establishes the time period it was made which is important for collectors, the original certificate of authenticity (COA) from B&B is AMAZING to have, and best of all - it shows how meticulous the original owner was in caring for his prized possessions - this Camaleonda is all original and in incredible condition for its age. Collectors and art investors - get this quick before it's gone.
This modular Camaleonda sectional couch set is with its original deep chocolate brown leather includes fourteen (14) pieces which consists of four full seating elements with one 2/3 seating element and one 1/3 seating element (which work great as spacers in between the full seat elements or as foot rests / ottomans), four backs and four arms. All tufting, hardware and feet are present, no rips or tears, everything is sturdy and structurally sound. Each seat element is signed with B&B labels and all full seat elements have the Atelier International distributor tags as well.
Collectors will always prefer an 'original' from early production years over later production examples or reproductions. For the Camaleonda, that would be the 1970s era. In addition - original leather is much more desirable than reupholstered sets. However it is very hard to find an early production set in good condition with all hardware in-tact, making sets like this increasingly rare to find. This is a set you don't want to miss - interior designers, select this set for your favorite client or if you want to be a little secretly selfish, get it for yourself, we promise not to tell =)
*We have a large quantity of other Camaleonda elements (C&B Italia and B&B Italia examples) if you are looking for a larger set, contact us to discuss.
