Vladimir Kagan "Capricorn" Outdoor Dining Chairs and Table, circa 1958, RestoredAutomaton Vintage Furnishings
Known for his eye catching, modernistic, dynamic designs, Vladimir Kagan's work attracted a stream of notable design projects, along with a lengthy list of celebrity clientele, including Walt Disney and Marilyn Monroe.
In 1958 Kagan designed "Capricorn", an indoor-outdoor iron collection through W&J Sloan. Aptly named for its nod to the symbol of the Zodiac, this set embodies both comfort and functionality, two principals that drove his creativity.
This rare and highly collectible compilation has been newly refinished and includes four (4) pieces; three (3) matching tri-pod chairs and one (1) round dining table. The contoured, elegantly shaped chairs are fabricated from enameled wire, forming a structure that is both practical and striking. The table pertains of a steel base with the same white powder coated finish and is topped a textured glass surface, ideal for outdoor use.
This set, already a rare design and being a complete set, is highly uncommon to find and desirable for collectors and interior designers.
An additional chair is available for purchase if you wish to use the table with 4 chairs as seen in the last image. While the base was made to stylize with 3 chairs, it can fit 4 chairs without issues. Dimensions: Chairs: 34.75"H x 18"W x 17.5"D x 19.5" seat height Table: 29"H x 41"DIA
