Vintage Umbrella Stand by Buccarelli Milano, circa 1960s Italy, Signed
A beautiful circa 1960s vintage Italian umbrella stand by Bucciarelli, signed underneath with 'Bucciarelli Milano Made in Italy' label. Similar to umbrella stands made by Piero Fornasetti, it has been rumored he licensed some of his work to the retailer Bucciarelli however we have not found any confirmation on this so this is listed as 'In the style of' Fornasetti.
This hefty cylindrical umbrella bin is made with lithographic transfer and lacquered metal that has a black background with gold decoupage cameos motif, elegant brass trim and brass feet to this gorgeous collectors piece. Excellent piece of functional art to hold your umbrellas or use for other creative storage ideas. Also works great as a paper / trash bin. Excellent craftsmanship and quality that you just can't get in todays items.... and since it has great heft (weighted) you don't have to worry about it tipping over. Perfect piece to add a little splash of whimsy and intrigue into your interior decor.
This Pierro Fornassetti style cylindrical umbrella holder by Italian retailer Buccarelli would work great in a Mid-Century Modern, Scandanavian Modern or Danish Modern home or penthouse apartment but could also look fantastic in a Contemporary or Post-Modern room. Also consider mixing it up in a Traditional, Transitional, Hollywood Regency, French Neoclassical or Art Deco room with a splash of juxtaposition. Would also be an apt choice in a commercial project such as a hotel lobby lounge or members club, creative design studio or high-rise executive office.
