Custom Restored Tandem Sling by Eames for Herman Miller, Edelman Leather
Automaton Vintage Furnishings

Ray & Charles Eames were commissioned to design the perfect utilitarian seating for the first international airports in 1962. Created for comfort and convenience, this sling chair, often called "The Airport Bench" is iconic and has never before been redone with such luxury in mind.
New life was given unto these classics by refurbishing the original lightweight aluminum frames and splitting them apart to create one-, two- and three-seaters. Reupholstered in world-class full grain Edelman Leather, another established name in opulent interiors for seven generations.
Contact us if you wish to custom design your own chair. We can restore 1, 2, 3 or 4 seat combinations in a wide variety of designer leathers. Frame finishes also available, included brass plating.
This three-seat has been redone with Edelman's City Lights leather in textured cream Shagreen.
