Jacaranda and Black Leather Dining Chairs, Set of Four, Brazil, circa 1970Automaton Vintage Furnishings
Expertly crafted set of four exotic jacaranda wood Brazilian chairs, circa 1970. These striking chairs are fabricated from solid jacaranda rosewood and display a striking tonal range of movement in the grain, creating an eye-catching and inspiring contrast. The chairs have been recently restored and reupholstered in a high quality smooth black leather.
The Klismos style legs resemble designs from T.H. Robsjohn Gibbings, Maison Jansen and Tommi Parzinger while the fully padded seat backs provide ample support and comfort, something you might find on American Modern chairs such as Paul Evans or Milo Baughman for Directional. But these Brazilian Modern chairs have something that those others don't... the dynamic range of light and dark tone Jacaranda which gives an exotic flair that is also completely unique - you won't find an identical example anywhere.
Consider using these armless chairs around a round dining table, such as a 48 inch white marble top table. Also could be used in pairs for an executive office. Or add a pair of statement armchairs to flank these on a larger rectangular dining table. Contact us if you wish to purchase a pair.
Measurements: 29.25" H x 71" W x 35.5" D.
Excellent. These chairs have been previously restored and present very well with light normal wear. Some minor scuffs and scratches. Ready for immediate use.
