Percival Lafer Rosewood and Distressed Leather Tufted Sofa, Brazil, circa 1960Automaton Vintage Furnishings
Wonderfully distressed brown leather sofa by Brazilian designer Percival Lafer for Lafer MP in 1961. Featuring a solid rosewood frame with beautiful grain that supports the natural leather straps which the tufted brown leather cushion rests on. The original leather upholstery has developed an admirable patina which is prominent in some places more than others. These traces of age and use bring more vibrancy to the leather, giving this piece a highly desirable lightly distressed look.
This slouchy, casual piece would look great as part of a living room, den, screening room, man cave, office or bedroom. It would also be great in a hospitality or corporate location, such as a boutique hotel lobby, cocktail bar, members club, workspace studio, executive office or in a clothing emporium.
Measurements: 27.5" H x 79.5" W x 40.5" D
Seat height 14.5"
Very good original vintage condition. Frame is sturdy and structurally sound. The leather has a patina built up over time and possesses an 'aged' look with wear throughout. This can be very desirable if you're wanting to acquire on-trend distressed look which is widely featured by designers and publications.
