Sergio Rodrigues Solid Jacaranda Rosewood "Franco" Lounge Chairs, BrazilAutomaton Vintage Furnishings
Newly imported from a private collector in Brazil, these original un-restored yet fantastic condition examples of the "Franco" chairs were procured from the original home in Brazil which Rodrigues had worked on as the architect and completely furnished as the interior designer. The frame is fabricated from solid jacaranda (rosewood), which displays a beautiful grain with much contrast and is punctuated by chrome CAP details. These armchairs retain the original supple black leather upholstery which is in excellent condition, showing only subtle signs of an attractive patina. These traces of age and use bring more vibrancy to the leather.
Brazilian Modern is fantastic alternative to the usual suspects seen in Mid-Century Modern design furniture. The use of clean lines and minimal form of these pieces make them appropriate for a number of locations, from Classic and contemporary homes to elegant executive offices to hip startups. They would also be great in a hospitality, retail or corporate location, such as a boutique hotel lobby, cocktail bar, members club, workspace studio, director's office or in a luxe clothing emporium.
