1950s Birch LTR Tables by Eames for Herman Miller, Early Production, Signed
Early 1950s Production LTR tables by Charles Eames, birch table tops over zinc wire frames, marked with George Nelson for Herman Miller labels, a rare but occasionally occurring mixup of labels in the Herman Miller factories. The labels were very similar so it was known that Herman Miller employees had occasionally used the wrong ones.
In good vintage condition, sturdy and structurally sound, these tables show indications of their age and use such as water stains, oxidation to the zinc frames and blemishes to the birch wood tops as expected from years of love and use.
While for some it might be tempting to restore these, we would never do such a thing to something as collectible as these unique and quintessential LTR low tables. The marks of age only add to its character and story. These are perfect for the buyer or collector who wishes to have personality in their furnishings; for those who demand a blemish free LTR table we recommend buying a new production laminate top version for $215 from DWR. If you want something truly notable and distinctive, not to mention collectible - then invite these conversation starters into your living space.
