Brazilian Jacaranda Rosewood Slatted Bench or Low Table, Brazil 1960s
This incredible Brazilian Modern slatted Jacaranda Rosewood bench or low table was originally made in the 1960s. We sourced this piece near Rio (Brazil) and just completed restoration on it. Featuring 81" x 22" of gorgeous vibrant Jacaranda Rosewood - an exotic South American hardwood, on 32 slats which can be used to sit on as a low bench, or as a coffee / cocktail table, or as a low console / media table placed against the wall.
Similar to Sergio Rodrigues's 'Mucki' bench, this slatted masterpiece is something you simply cannot get today in modern production - due to restrictions on Rosewood and costs to create something of this size and quality. Ideal for an interior designer looking for a show-stopper piece to complete a room in a high end luxury residential or commercial interior.
This Sergio Rodrigues styled slatted wood bench would work great in a Mid-Century Modern, Scandanavian Modern or Danish Modern home or penthouse apartment but could also look fantastic in a Contemporary or Post-Modern room. Also consider mixing it up in a Traditional, Transitional, Classical or Art Deco room with a splash of juxtaposition. Would also be an apt choice in a commercial project such as a hotel lobby lounge or members club, creative design studio or high-rise executive office.
