These renowned soft pad executive task chairs from the soft pad line, designed by Charles and Ray Eames for Herman Miller. Originally the Aluminum Group chairs were designed in 1958 and then in 1969 the Eames upgraded the design with soft padded cushions with the new name of the "Soft Pad Collection". Featuring the original vintage leather upholstery over five-star aluminum base and frame on casters. The aluminum swivel frames are lightweight making these chairs easy to relocate. Height Adjustment and Tilt functions located under the chair seat on the aluminum chair base.

Taken from Herman Miller's website: Aluminum Group chairs began as a Challenge among legendary designers. Eero Saarinen and Alexander Girard were designing the Columbus, Indiana, home of J. Irwin Miller, founder of Cummins Engines. They wanted a high-quality seating product for outdoor use and asked Charles and Ray Eames to develop one. The Eames’s accepted.
