'Corkscrew' Chair & Ottoman by Vladimir Kagan for Directional in Bouclé, Signed

Newly reupholstered in a soft and nubby light beige bouclé, this 'Corkscrew' swivel chair with ottoman by Vladimir Kagan for Directional, circa 1980s / 90s is signed with a Directional label underneath the chair. This classic Post-Modern club chairs swivel 180 degrees on a circular wooden base.

The beautiful color of this bouclé is a light beige but in bright room settings can appear closer to off-white in color. It's a beautiful fabric and beautiful color - we've spent a few years trying out different bouclé fabrics and this is by far our favorite that we've found, due to quality, texture and appearance.

Noted by Kagan as one of his most popular designs, along with the Nautilus chair which is a similar design that is often misattributed to the 'Corkscrew' chair, so popular that in the 1980s and 1990s other companies started to produce the design without his permission. Examples produced by Directional however were the correct authentic examples that he created the design for - so this set of Corkscrew club chair with ottoman are great for Kagan collectors as well as interior designers with clients who enjoy authentic and original designs.

The curvaceous design of this Vladimir Kagan for Directional Furniture 'Corkscrew' aka Nautilus swivel armchair and ottoman make this piece a great conversation starter in a Post-Modern, Mid-Century Modern, Space Age Mod, Scandanavian Modern or Danish Modern home or penthouse apartment but could also look fantastic in a Contemporary or Zen / Minimalism room.
