This elegant and refined Giovanni Banci (1942-1999) cocktail table was produced in Italy and retailed by Hermès in the 1970s and is now a sought-after collectors piece for top interior designers and 20th century art and design investors across the world.
Timeless neoclassical-moderne style, this Banci coffee table was crafted in nickeled wrought Iron and is a bit more rare than the already rare gilt versions. Featuring classic Hermès styling by incorporating rings and hooks to simulate a horse bit in equestrian fashion. Finished in nickel with light and attractive patina showing off its age while demonstrating it was a well cared for example ready to become a family heirloom.
This Giovani Banci for Hermès nickeled neoclassical cocktail would work great in a French Neoclassical, Hollywood Regency, Art Deco, Post-Modern, Mid-Century Modern, Space Age Mod, Scandanavian Modern or Danish Modern home or penthouse apartment but could also look fantastic in a Contemporary or Zen / Minimalism room. Also consider mixing it up in a Traditional or Transitional room with a splash of juxtaposition. Would also be an apt choice in a commercial project such as a hotel lobby lounge or members club, creative design studio or high-rise executive office.
MEASUREMENTS:
H 16.75" x W 50" x D 24"
Glass top is 48.5" x 21.25" and .5" thick
CONDITION:
Very good vintage condition with light patina. Smoked glass top is new. It was made to inset into the glass and .5" thick. In hindsight, I think a thicker glass top, either .75" or 1" thick with a beveled edge would be better. We are happy to provide a new custom glass top based on your preference of tint, edge profile (bevel) and thickness. Table is beautiful and ready for immediate use.
