'Molar' by Wendell Castle, Gel-Coated Fiberglass Dining Table c. 1969

This rare early production collectors piece is a circa 1969 'Molar' dining table by Wendell Castle (American, 1932-2018) made from gel-coated white fiberglass with black rubber footing. The top is a fantastic oval shape (56" x 48") giving you plenty of room for for to six dining chairs.

The condition of this incredible 'Molar' dining table is excellent, ideal for a design collector or high-end luxury interior designer. Underneath the table base you can see the uncoated fiberglass and old screws used demonstrating its age and original early production details. Ready to use right away, the wear is barely noticeable and one of the better examples of Castle's fiberglass works.

Ideal as a dinner table, conference / meeting table, cafe / breakfast table. But also consider using this as a desk or center table, or even as stand-alone sculpture or the base of another sculpture.

This rare Wendell Castle 'Molar' fiberglass dining table would work great in a Post-Modern, Mid-Century Modern, Space Age Mod, Scandanavian Modern or Danish Modern home or penthouse apartment but could also look fantastic in a Contemporary or Zen / Minimalism room. CONDITION
Excellent vintage condition with very minor barely visible wear. Upon close inspection there are some faint surface scratches to the top which is typical with gentle use over time, one small half-inch flake to gel coating to top surface near edge and another to foot. Overall extremely attractive example and ready for immediate use.
