Pair of Leather 'Tucroma Chairs' by Guido Faleschini for i4 Mariani, 1970s
Currently, the most coveted dining chairs by interior designers are 'Tucroma' chairs by Guido Faleschini for i4 Mariani, and we have this incredible pair of Tucroma armchairs in beautiful black leather with brass tone steel frames.
The seats and backs retain the original supple black leather upholstery and are attached to graceful steel tubular frames which have a slight brass tone to them as you can see in the photos, as well as being bridged together by wide black leather straps at the back with hand-tied detail. The frames are quite interesting, as normally you will find these in a chrome finish and these are not quite brass nor quite chrome, but somewhere in between. Take a look at the photos and see for yourself - we are currently loving this pair of chairs. If you agree, you should buy them before they are sold - this is the only pair we have ever found with this frame color.
i4 Mariani was a specialty Italian design division of the Pace Collection and Guido Faleschini was the star designer who created famous designs such as the Tucroma line and a line of bedroom furniture for Hermès. We carry a large selection of designs by i4 Mariani and Guido Faleschini, contact us if you are looking for anything else.
While Tucroma chairs are difficult to get as they are so in-demand by interior designers and collectors alike, the black leather color is the most sought-after making it even more competitive to find. This is an interior design magazine cover worthy set of chairs and would look so amazing with a marble or travertine dining table, such as designs by Angelo Mangiarotti and Roche Bobois or lacquered goatskin tables by Karl Springer and Steve Chase.
This sleek set of dining / arm / side chairs by Guido Faleschini for i4Mariani would inject some 1970s Italian modern into any interior and would compliment various locations such as a Mid-Century Modern, Contemporary, Postmodern, neoclassical, or Transitional dining room, living room, den, games room, office space, entryway or bedroom. Consider using as a throne chair, lounge chair, side chair, occasional chair, consider even for a dressing room or large walk in closet. Would be great as a reading armchair or chair to soak in a view. It would also be perfect in a hospitality or corporate location, such as; a boutique hotel lobby, cocktail bar, members club, workspace studio, executive office, or in a luxe clothing emporium. Consider pairing with items from Leon Rosen for Pace, Charles Hollis Jones, Vladimir Kagan or Pierre Paulin. Also can work great with a Willy Rizzo, Maison Jansen or Aldo Tura dining / breakfast / cafe / game table.
