Paul Evans Studio Wet Bar Cabinet with Hidden Sink, c 1970, Authenticated
This unique and important custom wet bar cabinet by Paul Evans Studio was crafted in circa 1970, featuring a flip-top with hidden sink and faucet and multiple storage spaces behind heavy metal doors. This special Paul Evans Studio piece was authenticated by Dorsey Reading, a letter of authentication will be provided along with the cabinet upon purchase.
This exquisite work of functional art was fabricated using the 'Patchwork Technique' as described by Dorsey Reading: "taking different shaped pieces of steel arranged in a random pattern, then colored with different pigments and sealed." The cabinet can be separated into three separate units, making it easier to transport and install.
This piece was hand fabricated by Paul Evans Studio - this is a very important point to note for collectors and investors, as his studio work is much more sought-after and generally much more valuable than those made for Directional Furniture showrooms. His studio work is much more rare, unique and coveted.
We also have the matching bench with internal storage, which can also be used as a credenza (with custom base) and can also wrap-around a corner - making it as versatile as it is striking and unique.
This Paul Evans Studio custom sculptural wet bar with built-in sink and faucet would work great in a Mid-Century Modern, Scandanavian Modern or Danish Modern home or penthouse apartment but could also look fantastic in a Contemporary or Post-Modern room. Also consider mixing it up in a Traditional, Transitional, Classical or Art Deco room with a splash of juxtaposition. Would also be an apt choice in a commercial project such as a hotel lobby lounge or members club, creative design studio or high-rise executive office.
