Rosewood and Teddy Bear Bouclé Art Deco Club Chairs, c 1930s, Restored
This completely restored pair of circa 1930s Rosewood Art Deco club chairs were recovered in a new teddy bear bouclé fabric and Rosewood arms refinished with a French Polish, accentuating the exotic wood grain.
As you can see in the last photo, the chairs possesses the attributes of age, demonstrating they are of the correct Art Deco period. We retained those age correct elements, such as their original copper springs, old nailheads, and horsehair filling while strengthening the internal framing preparing these chairs for the next century ahead.
Besides its age, and the use of exotic Rosewood which is now an endangered species and prohibited from being used for new production, my favorite aspect of these chairs is the silhouette. So very on-trend, making this pair of Art Deco armchairs perfect for a luxury interior designer or design collector / investor.
This pair of art deco club chairs would complement various locations such as a living room, den, family room, games room man (or woman!) cave or office space. This would also be perfect in a hospitality or corporate location, such as; a boutique hotel lobby, cocktail bar, members club, workspace studio, executive office, meeting room, or in a luxe clothing emporium. Consider using in a Mid-Century Modern or Postmodern home, also consider for a traditional, classical or contemporary home or office. Consider using as a side chair, cafe or breakfast table chair, bedside chair, fireside chair, dressing or changing room chair, hallway chair, entryway or mudroom chair, nursing or reading chair, conference room chair, office or desk guest chair, lobby chair, or occasional chair ideal in virtually any setting.
