Verner Panton 'Pantonova' Six Chair Dining Room Suite for Fritz Hansen, 1971

This original, early production year, 'Pantonova' dining room suite by Verner Panton for Fritz Hansen consists of six convex nickel-plated steel wire dining chairs which nest into its corresponding dining table with glass top.

This Verner Panton 'Pantonova' wire furniture system consists of parallel wire rods which make up the chairs and the table which sits under a glass top. It was originally designed and produced as part of the work for the Varna restaurant in Arhus, DK in 1971. The beautiful patina, as can be seen in the photos, demonstrate the age of this early year production set which are prime collectors examples.

The six side chairs can nest into the table when not in use, and has removable orange fabric cushions with its original orange fabric. It is very rare to find a complete set with the original fabric cushions - so for collectors, rejoice - this is the set for you.

This original seven element 'Pantonova' dining set by Verner Panton for Fritz Hansen would pair well with other wire designs such as ones from Warren Platner and Harry Bertoia for Knoll Associates and Knoll International. Would also pair excellent with other space age mod designs such as Eero Aarnio and Eero Saarinen. Consider placing in a Mid-Century Modern, Scandinavian Modern or Danish Modern home or penthouse apartment but could also look fantastic in a Contemporary or Post-Modern room. Also consider mixing it up in a Traditional, Transitional, Classical or Art Deco room with a splash of juxtaposition. CONDITION:
Wire frames are in very good vintage condition with light patina overall, some areas with moderate patina as can be seen in photos. Patina can be cleaned if desired however we left the original patina for those who prefer keeping it such as collectors and art investors, if you wish us to clean the frames prior to shipping please message us to request.

Fabric cushions are in fair to good vintage condition with light and even overall fading and light vintage acceptable wear. Current fabric cushions are usable as-is in a vintage setting or can be reupholstered for new contemporary rooms. It is a big benefit that the original cushions are present with this rare set - so if you do want new cushions we highly suggest using these cushions as a template to make new ones but not to reupholster this set of cushions. This way you can have a new set of cushions but store the original cushions away so that you always have them for any future sale.
