Vittorio Dassi Italian Lacquered Rosewood Sideboard or Bar, circa 1950
Add some European elegance to your space with this slenderly proportioned Italian Modern sideboard designed by Vittorio Dassi. The piece features habitual elements found in Mid Century Modern furniture by Italian designers of that era, such as high gloss lacquer, use of exotic wood species such as Rosewood, sharp edges and application of curves, which were sometimes overly exaggerated.
The subtly tapered design is fabricated of high gloss lacquered Rosewood in an amber toned hue with distinct dark striped grain. This piece comprises of flared spider legs, three (3) shelves, (2) slim drawers, brass hardware and a compact hutch which opens to reveal a curved mirrored storage compartment, perfect for storing a liquor stash and glassware. It also includes the original lightbulb to illuminate the inside of the hutch and original wiring.
This stylish piece could be occupied as a credenza or a serve as a bar, ideal for keeping in reserve a cache of spirits for when the occasion calls for it. The slim proportions enable for this item to be positioned in a layout neatly and would be excellently situated in an Art Deco loft, Mid Century Modern bungalow, luxe open floor plan apartment, Hollywood Regency home or contemporary studio.
